The COVID-19 has impacted the lives of many people throughout the world and our great city.
S.H.E.R.A.H. is assessing the situation and has decided to postpone our 4th Annual Mother Daughter Retreat until further notice.
As we continue to learn about this virus and how grave the impact will be, we ask that our community members and friends think about the women who are living in community spaces like the Joan B. Quinn Safe House.
As you shop to provide your family with the basic necessities, please consider purchasing toilet paper, paper towels, bleach, hand sanitizer and some basic food items for our vulnerable population of women.
We are doing the best we can to educate our clients and residents on how to stay safe.
The are reminded to wash their hands often, cough in their elbows oppose to outward, we have conducted a thorough cleaning of the Joan B. Quinn Safe House, we are asking residents who feel sick to immediately inform staff and self-quarantine until we can get them tested, residents are also told to keep their hands out of their faces and practice good hygiene. We are also building their immune systems by ensuring they have access to nutritious foods.
We have suspended any outside volunteers at this time. We will provide the women with video life skill sessions instead.
We, like many people in the community, are very concerned how this virus will impact our ability to continue forward.
We are thinking of you all and pray that you maintain your mental and physical health during these challenging times.
